Horror Movie Survival Kit

Man Crates is a new company that ships awesome gifts for men in custom wooden crates that he has to open with a crowbar! At Man Crates, it is their mission to end the difficulties that have long been associated with buying gifts for men. And what does Man Crates have to do with horror? Well, while they have a wide assortment of crates, they also have horror themed ones like their "Zombie Survival Crate." Someone at Man Crates asked me to create my own Horror Movie Survival Kit as part of their Halloween celebration so here we go!

Us horror fans know that is usually takes a lot to survive a horror film. A lot of it comes from the person's will to live, and a little luck. Obviously those things don't come in a crate, so lets start by thinking about the kind of horror movies we could end up in. We have zombies, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, aliens, end of the world scenarios, and even sharknados! Even with a crate I'm not sure we could be totally prepared for all of those things, but lets give it a try.

Lets start with something simple like a pair of guns. With guns we must have ammo, so lets include regular bullets, wooden bullets, and a few silver ones. I'm not sure what's going to stop an alien, but lets think Star Trek and include a phaser. Ok, there might not by such a thing, but neither are zombies, vampires, and werewolves (supposedly).

Guns and phasers are good, but they won't last so lets include either a metal bat, or machete. They can be useful against many creatures, and humans that have gotten out of control (thank you Walking Dead). Everyone has a knife so throw that in there. How about something old school like brass knuckles? They just might come in handy if you’re in hand-to-hand combat. And how could I forget one of my favorites the chainsaw! Too bad that's probably too big for the kit.

Moving on from weapons, lets think of some other useful items. A cross necklace wouldn't hurt. Maybe even a bigger cross to carry just in case that powerful demon comes along. We can throw in some holy water with that. Here's one courtesy of Supernatural...some salt. Lets keep those demons out of the house! Oh and here's something useful... night vision! Although that hasn't always worked out for who ever is using it in recent movies.

All right, we can't over look food. I wouldn't get too carried anyway with it since most people in horror movies don't stop for snacks. However, if we were in the apocalypse or end of the world some food wouldn't hurt. Everyone has their own taste so since this is my kit I'll include some chips, peanuts, crackers, hard candy, water, and Dr. Pepper! Yes, my caffeine of choice since I can't take a Starbucks with me!

Hopefully this crate comes with some wheels because that is a lot of stuff to carry around. I didn't even include other things like stakes, matches, lighters, extra clothes, camping gear, handcuffs, a first aid kit, etc. Anyways, hopefully I have enough to survive at least a few days depending on which horror movie I end up in. So what would be in your kit?
