WILD LOVE REVIEW

The heart has its reasons of which nature knows nothing.

Directed by: Paul Autric, Quentin Campus, Maryka Laudet, Lea Georges, Zoe Sottiaux, and Corentin Yvergniaux

A couple is spending a romantic afternoon in the middle of the forest. They are at peace and enjoying every second of their time alone. Laying down near the edge of a cliff, they take a picture, and as soon as it comes out of the camera it blows away. The woman tries to save it, but is too late as it goes over the cliff along with her climbing stick. It seems like a harmless act, but it isn’t.
It turns out they weren’t the only couple in the forest because her stick lands on a marmot killing it. From here on out, it’s all about marmot revenge. This animated film really kicks into cartoon gear as the marmots launch an attack on the couple. Nothing is off limits, and this becomes a brutal battle for the couple. As usual, true love really does come out on top!
“Wild Love” isn’t exactly a title that screams horror movie. However, don’t be fooled by the romantic background music, peaceful forest setting, or even the seemingly harmless marmots. These marmots use the couples’ gear against them for revenge in the name of love. I’ve always said don’t “f*ck” with nature, and the savage final shot of the movie proves it. This is definitely another winning short horror film!
