IT: CHAPTER TWO REVIEW

Twenty-seven years after their first encounter with the terrifying Pennywise, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back. Starring: Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Bill Skarsgard Written by: Gary Dauberman and Stephen King Directed by: Andy Muschietti   No clowning around here, lets jump right into “IT: Chapter Two.” The famous scene with Georgie sets the tone for chapter one, so how would chapter two start? They set up a scene that unfortunately is much more common than should be these days. A gay couple is enjoying their time at the fair when they find themselves under attack. One of them is thrown into the river, and pulled out by Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard). With his partner watching, Pennywise finishes what the bullies started. Again they’ve opened with a powerful, hard to watch scene that definitely will get the audience’s attention....

ANNABELLE COMES HOME REVIEW

While babysitting the daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a teenager and her friend unknowingly awaken an evil spirit in a doll. Starring: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, McKenna Grace, Madison Iseman, and Katie Sarife Directed by: Gary Dauberman Written by: James Wan, and Gary Dauberman   It was like love at first fright when Annabelle debuted in “ The Conjuring .” I just knew fans needed more of her, and we’ve had more of her than I could’ve ever imagined. However, some of that love disappeared by the end of “ Annabelle Creation ” because it really sunk in that Annabelle would never be like Chucky. She draws the evil out, but never is going to be more than a creepy looking doll.    That’s made clear when “Annabelle Comes Home” begins with the Warren couple trying to bring Annabelle home. Evil spirits are drawn to her in a great scene that sets the tone for the rest of the movie. As quickly as the Warren’s make an appearance, they’re off leaving th...

IT REVIEW

A group of bullied kids band together when a monster, taking the appearance of a clown, begins hunting children. Starring: Bill Skarsgard, Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Wyatt Oleff Directed by: Andy Muschietti Written by: Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga, and Gary Dauberman   It has become common to hear a lot of complaints about remakes especially horror remakes. It’s rare for one to actually receive some positive hype like the way “IT” has. Social media has been buzzing a long time for this movie, and it’s finally here. So you know the question…does “IT” live up to the hype?   Right off the bat it’s great to see that this movie is rated R. For those familiar with the original, Georgie (Jackson Robert Scott) chases his toy boat down the street, into the sewer, and runs into Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard). That scene ends not showing much, but this remake shows the bloody tragedy that tak...

ANNABELLE CREATION REVIEW

Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle. Starring: Stephanie Sigman, Miranda Otto, Lulu Wilson, and Anthony LaPaglia Directed by: David F. Sandberg  Written by: Gary Dauberman   Marvel has created one of the best universes going right now with their superhero movies. Not long ago, Universal announced the return of their monster icons in what they’re calling the Dark Universe. And then there’s The Conjuring Universe that is somewhat quietly coming out from the shadows. A third Conjuring movie is on its way, along with “The Nun,” but first Annabelle gets a second chance to win over horror fans.   With a title like “Annabelle Creation” the audience might expect to see a lot about her creation. However, after seeing dollmaker Samuel Mullins ( Anthony LaPaglia) p...

ANNABELLE REVIEW

A couple begin to experience terrifying supernatural occurrences involving a vintage doll shortly after their home is invaded by satanic cultists. Starring: Ward Horton, Annabelle Wallis, and Alfre Woodard Directed by: John R. Leonetti Written by: Gary Dauberman   While "The Conjuring" is a very good movie, one of the biggest things many people took away from it was the brief introduction they got to the doll Annabelle. Right away I came out of that movie saying that we needed to have a movie about that doll. I'm not sure what it was about her, but apparently I wasn't the only one who felt the same way. So now everyone who became instantly enamored with Annabelle, like myself, got what they wanted... "Annabelle" the movie.   With that said, there are a lot of big expectations from those who wanted this movie to happen. Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect, but just knew I had to see it. If audiences didn't realize it in ...
