BEST 2020 HORROR MOVIES

I won’t be the first and probably not the last to proclaim 2020 a dumpster fire of a year. And somewhere in that fire horror movies were able to burn bright! I’m not sure if it has been an amazing year because I got to watch more horror than ever, or that they were just that damn good. So good I’m doing this list a little different this year.   First will come my top 10 films of the year instead of the top 5. I almost made it a top 20, but couldn’t come to an order of films that I was happy with. So instead I’ve broken down some categories to able to mention some films that deserve recognition. And still with the categories I know some films were left out that need to be watched, and I’m sorry to those films.   If you’ve followed me on Twitter and/or the podcast you might have some clues as to the films I’ve really liked. I think I’ve tried to remain consistent starting with my #1 pick, which shouldn’t be a shock, and was the only film this year that I gave 5...

BEST 2019 HORROR MOVIES

When one horror year ends and another one begins the ‘best of' lists start appearing on everyone’s favorite sites and blogs. Now it’s my turn at making a list. Honestly, I hate doing this when I know I’ve missed some important movies that might have ended up on this list. However, I’ll do the best with what I saw, and note some of the ones I missed at the bottom. While I call it a ‘best of' list, it's really just my favorite horror films of 2019. So here are my favorites… 5. Us - Yes, I probably ranked one or two others higher during the year, but looking back at all the movies as a whole I feel this deserves a spot up here. It was creepy, tense, and weird. If it missed the spot with some people, it was how the film wrapped up. 4. Satanic Panic - Either horror comedies have gotten better or I’ve gotten softer because I’ve enjoyed more of them every year. This one wins for horror comedy of the year for me with a great story that all adds up in the end. Th...

2019 HORROR MOVIES

So where will 2019 ultimately end up in horror history? Well time will tell, but it didn’t seem to be too bad of a year. I’ll make my picks so enough, but I want to know what you thought of horror in 2019. What was your favorite movie? What was the best movie? What was the worst? What movies did you miss that you hope to see in the future? To help I put together a little video to remind you of some of the 2019 horror movies. I’m probably missing some, and others you can argue about release dates. Regardless, just take a look, see what 2019 brought horror fans, and let me know what you thought of 2019 horror…

BEST HORROR MOVIES OF 2018

When one horror year ends and another one begins the ‘best of' lists start appearing on everyone’s favorite sites and blogs. Now it’s my turn at making a list. Sometimes it’s an easy task, and sometimes it’s hard. Either way it’s fun, especially comparing it to others, and even talking about the differences. While I call it a ‘best of' list, it's really just my favorite horror films of 2018. I wish I saw everything, and know I missed out on some good ones. Regardless here are my favorites… 5. Upgrade : Can’t say I would have thought this would ever be on this list. However, this was an extremely fun movie with a great combination of horror, sci-fi, action, and comedy. 4. Tigers Are Not Afraid: This isn’t the typical kind of film I like, but sometimes you just have to give credit to a job well done from all involved. A great story with terrific performances from a young cast. 3. The Dark: Another surprise and I’m not sure I’ve seen it on many l...
